Some football shirts are remembered for a great team. Others become symbols of an entire generation.

The FC Barcelona 2005/06 Home Jersey is one of those shirts.

With its classic blaugrana vertical stripes, Nike design, yellow detailing and unmistakable early-2000s aesthetic, this is the shirt of Ronaldinho's Barcelona — the team that combined spectacular football with one of the greatest European campaigns in the club's history.

It was the season Barcelona won La Liga and their second European Cup, returning to the summit of European football for the first time since 1992.

The Story Behind the Shirt

The 2005/06 season was the moment Barcelona truly announced that a new era had arrived.

Under Frank Rijkaard, Barça had assembled a remarkable group of players: Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o, Deco, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Rafael Márquez and Henrik Larsson.

At the center of it all was Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian was at the peak of his powers. His creativity, technique and joy on the pitch made him the face of Barcelona and one of the most feared players in world football. He finished the Champions League campaign with seven goals and was named the competition's standout player.

Barcelona dominated their Champions League group, winning five of six matches before beginning the knockout stage.

Then came Chelsea.

A 2–1 victory at Stamford Bridge, followed by a 1–1 draw at Camp Nou, sent Barça through. Benfica were eliminated in the quarter-finals before Barcelona faced AC Milan in the semi-finals.

The destination was Paris.

17 May 2006 — Stade de France

Barcelona faced Arsenal in the Champions League final.

Arsenal took the lead through Sol Campbell, but Barcelona refused to surrender.

With 15 minutes remaining, substitute Henrik Larsson began changing the game.

First, Larsson created the opening for Samuel Eto'o, who equalized in the 76th minute.

Five minutes later, the Swedish striker found Juliano Belletti, who fired Barcelona into the lead.

Barcelona 2–1 Arsenal.

The comeback was complete.

Barcelona were European champions for the second time, 14 years after Johan Cruyff's legendary 1992 team had won the club's first European Cup.

And the season had another unforgettable chapter.

Earlier in the campaign, Barcelona demolished Real Madrid 3–0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Ronaldinho scoring twice. His performance was so extraordinary that sections of the Madrid crowd applauded him as he left the field. That same year, Ronaldinho won the 2005 Ballon d'Or.

This shirt therefore represents more than Barcelona's return to European glory.

It represents the beginning of the era that would soon produce Messi, Guardiola and one of the greatest teams football has ever seen.

The shirt pictured captures that period perfectly: traditional Barça stripes, the Nike swoosh, yellow details and the distinctive early-2000s Nike aesthetic. It is the shirt of Ronaldinho at his absolute peak.

A shirt from Paris.

A shirt from the Bernabéu.

A shirt from the beginning of something extraordinary.
