The Story Behind the Jersey
The 2014/15 season began a new era at Camp Nou. Luis Enrique took charge, Luis Suárez arrived from Liverpool, and alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, Barcelona developed one of the most feared attacking partnerships in modern football. The three forwards became the defining image of a team that would go on to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.
The journey to the Champions League final included victories over Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain before a memorable semi-final against Bayern Munich, coached by former Barça manager Pep Guardiola. Barcelona won the tie 5–3 on aggregate, with Messi producing one of the most iconic moments of the campaign with his unforgettable goal at Camp Nou.
On 6 June 2015, Barcelona faced Juventus in the Champions League final at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Ivan Rakitić opened the scoring, Luis Suárez restored Barça’s lead after Juventus equalised, and Neymar sealed a 3–1 victory in stoppage time. The triumph delivered Barcelona’s fifth European Cup and completed the club’s second historic treble.
Just days earlier, Barça had defeated Athletic Club 3–1 in the Copa del Rey final, with Lionel Messi scoring twice and Neymar adding another. With La Liga already secured, the club entered Berlin with the chance to complete the treble — and this shirt became one of the symbols of that extraordinary achievement.
The design itself captures a classic Barça identity. The traditional blaugrana stripes were wider than usual, appearing in slightly darker tones, while the yellow Nike Swoosh and Qatar Airways sponsor created a striking contrast. The shirt also incorporated Nike Dri-FIT technology and performance ventilation details, making it a perfect representation of mid-2010s Barcelona football.
